Here’s What Happens When People Find Out How Their Loved Ones Rate Their Success

You are your own worst enemy. It’s true. No one judges you harsher or to a higher standard than you judge yourself. It is this impossible pressure we place on ourselves that often holds us back. If someone asked you to rate your success on a scale of 1 to 10, what would you say? Now what would the people that love you most say? Strayer University and Aplus collaborated to create a video and social experiment in order to find out.

As it turns out, your loved ones see you as far more successful than you see yourself. The experiment is all a part of the University’s campaign to petition the definition of the word “success” as it is defined in the Merriam Webster English Dictionary.

Strayer University reports a staggering 90% of Americans associate success with happiness as opposed to the current Merriam-Webster definition which states the definition of success as, “the fact of getting or achieving wealth, respect, or fame.”

If you’re on board with their campaign you can sign the official petition here.

You may think your loved ones know how you feel about them, but as this video proves we are often unaware just how highly others view us. Don’t forget to let your loved ones know just how successful you think they are today.

“We had people rate their success on a scale of 1 to 10. But when we asked their loved ones to do the same, their answers told a different story.”
