This little girl is one lucky one-year-old! Her dad surprised her on her first birthday with an awesome Star Wars rocking horse styled after the 74-Z Speeder Bike. The Australian based dad who goes by “Tez Gelmir” on his Instructables page wrote, “I have built my son lots of projects but with my daughter’s first birthday coming up I felt it was her turn to get some project love and what better way than with her own Speeder Bike?!”

His daughter seems more than pleased with the present, and what kid wouldn’t be? Although Gelmir is happy he went through with it, the creative dad admits, “I have to say though, when the design first came to mind, I had no idea the time and thought that would be involved….”

See the awesome Rocking Speeder Bike below and if you just must have one of your own check out Tez Gelmir’s Instructables page for a detailed how-to. There are a total of 17 steps with a number of microinstructions to follow within each of these broader steps. It isn’t easy or fast, but the end results are worth the efforts.

If you’ve been living beneath a rock and haven’t seen the Star Wars movies, Gelmir provides a little background information about the 74-Z Speeder Bike:

“The 74-Z Speeder Bike is best known for its appearance in the 1983 movie, Star Wars: Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. In which Imperial Scout Troopers, on the forest moon of Endor, engage in a vicious chase with Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia Organa after the Rebels commandeered the speeder bikes to pursue their foes.”
