Johan Lolos became a world traveler in 2013, which doesn’t give him much experience under his belt… so you might think. But Lolos takes the title ‘world traveler’ rather seriously. Let’s just say he has covered a lot of ground in a relatively short amount of time.
In fact just last year he traveled 40,000km around Australia by plane, boat, bus, train, car, and some good old fashioned hitchhiking too. Johan did not skip out on anything, he visited every single state within the land of kangaroos and outbacks.
“Australia definitely is an amazing country, that’s why I wanted to share with you some of my best shots.” Below are some of the greatest photos of Australia, all taken by Johan Lolos throughout his wonderous adventure.
12 Apostles, Great Ocean Road, VIC
Majestic rocks rise out of the waters on the Southern coast line of Australia, creating what are called the 12 apostles. Many years ago these jagged chunks of rocks were towering limestone cliffs, the water has eroded them over the years, pushing the cliff back, and leaving behind only the strongest masses of limstone. Lolos was sure to visit this a well-known landmark in Australia on his travels.
Bay of Fires, TAS
Devils Marbles, NT
Gunlom, Kakadu National Park, NT
Bare Sand Island, NT
Katherine Gorge, NT
Blue Mountains, NSW
Lomos did not just travel through the outback, he also made it to the heart of Australia, in Sydney. Here, a much different landscape thrives, although incredibly breathtaking in its own unique way.
Heart Reef, Great barrier Reef, QLD
The Heart Reef is a popular destination for both locals and tourists, Lolos had the chance to fly over the Great Barrier Reef, taking in the stunning views below. This photograph of the teal and blue waters surrounding the reefs is just incredible.
Lady Elliot Island, QLD
Whithaven Beach, QLD
Whitsunday Islands, QLD
Lolos was able to explore the Whitsunday Islands from a number of approaches, including a 3 days/3 nights cruise around the famous set of gorgeous islands.

He is well worth following, with over 1,800 breathtaking images posted to date.
Kangaroo Island, SA
Kangaroo Island is the 3rd largest island in all of Australia, with a population of 4,250 people. Interestingly, there are 46 species that are only found here, as well as 891 native plants.
Port Lincoln, SA
In South Australia, Lolos had the chance to play with wild sea lions.
Ningaloo Reef, WA
The photographer and world traveler not only took in the surrounding beauty, but he was also able to secure some pretty awesome goals along the way, like getting his PADI diving license in Cairns.
Margaret River, WA
Finally some real kangaroos!!
Loch Ard Gorge, VIC
Once Lolos successfully traveled through every inch of Australia, he continued on his journey. Lolos is now in New Zealand covering every inch of territory and taking beautiful photos along the way. He writes, “I’ve just arrived in New Zealand for a year and hopefully I’ll keep inspiring people and help theme discover fantastic places.” We have no doubts about that!
The pinnacles are a collection of limestone formations located in the Nambung National Park in Western Australia. While Lolos was in Western Australia he also had the chance to swim out in the open waters alongside whale-sharks and wild dolphins.
